Music on the Hill invites you to Soaring! featuring the Chamber Chorus of Music on the Hill, a chorus of pro voices accompanied by piano.
This exciting concert features uplifting and exhilarating pieces celebrating the soaring human spirit. Experience this ascendant music – “our flight begins in song!” (Flight Song by Kim André Arnesen).
The program opens with Ascendit Deus by late-Renaissance composer Jacob Handl. Featured next on the program are works by contemporary composers including Ola Gjeilo (Across the Vast, Eternal Sky), Elaine Hagenberg (Swifter than Flame), and Marques Garrett (A Song of Life), each showcasing their signature inspirational styles and featuring moving texts on themes of courage, strength, and soaring. You will love it! Concluding the program is Shawn Kirchner’s arrangement of Unclouded Day, sure to uplift and inspire with its soaring melody and delightful harmonies voicing an eternal message of hope – “O they tell me of an unclouded day!”
