Dash Cam Captures Photos of Man Breaking into Car: Redding PD

Police say a man who burglarized two cars Saturday afternoon was caught on dash cam video.

UPDATE: The Redding Police have identified the man caught in the dash cam footage whom they were seeking in connection with the break-in of two cars on Saturday.

"Thanks to your tips, we quickly identified the suspect! This is still an ongoing investigation, so no further information will be released at this time. Thank you to all who shared this post!" The PD wrote on Facebook.

REDDING, CT — Police say a man burglarized two cars Saturday afternoon. Among the items not stolen from one of them was a dashboard camera, which was recording at the time of the break-in.

The Redding Police Department is investigating the burglaries. One occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. in a car parked along the access trail to the reservoir located on Newtown Turnpike near Glen Road. The second incident took place a few miles into Easton along Route 58 near the same time. Police say the suspect smashed out the rear driver’s side window and took a bag from the backseat in the first incident.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes the man in the photos to contact Officer Matthews or Sergeant McManus of the Redding Police Department. All calls will be kept are confidential.
