Democrats Endorse Himes To Seek Re-election

U.S. Congressman Jim Himes, representing the state's 4th Congressional District, has gotten the go-ahead to seek re-election.

REDDING, CT — On Monday, U.S. Congressman Jim Himes earned the Democratic endorsement to seek re-election to represent Connecticut's 4th Congressional District at the 2020 Democratic 4th Congressional District Convention.

"Now, more than ever, we need thoughtful, principled and compassionate leadership to keep Americans safe, rescue their economic livelihoods, and restore the opportunity for everyone to live the American Dream," said Himes. "This period of tragedy has revealed that we have drifted away from the ideals that comprise the American Dream, including access to healthcare, housing, and opportunity for all. We have also drifted away from the values of integrity, of truthfulness, of dignity, of really understanding that what unites us is greater than whatever divides us. It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve the people of Southwestern Connecticut, and you have my solemn vow that I will work between now and November to make sure that we are able restore those basic American values that make us who we are."

This year's 4th Congressional District Convention was held via Maestro Conference with delegates from all 17 towns comprising the 4th District.
