Don't Be Alarmed By Helicopters Flying Overhead in Weston

Eversource will be performing a transmission line survey over the next several days in Weston and neighboring towns.

WESTON, CT-- It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Eversource.

Beginning Wednesday, March 30 and running through Friday, April 8, Eversource will be conducting aerial surveys of vegetation growing near high voltage transmission lines "as part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the power grid and increase reliability," the company said in a release.

Two blue and gray helicopters will survey over 800 miles of transmission rights-of-way in Connecticut, including the towns of Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, Monroe, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, Wilton and surrounding towns.

All flights are weather permitting and will take place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. from March 30 through April 8, 2016. No flights are scheduled for Saturday, April 2 or Sunday, April 3, 2016.
