Experience: Current Town Clerk since election in 2013

Family in government: No

The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

Preserving our town records and providing transparent and accessible services to the residents and those visiting our town for business or pleasure

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

Unopposed

Accomplishments:

I am seeking reelection to my fifth term as Easton Town Clerk, a position to which I was first elected in 2013. Working diligently to serve the residents and visitors to our wonderful town, I have earned and achieved the professional designations of Certified Connecticut Town Clerk (CCTC) and Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) which is an international distinction. I am also on the Legislative Bylaws Committee for the Connecticut Town Clerks Association (CTCA) and the Board of Directors representing Connecticut for the New England Association of City and Town Clerks (NEACTC). The Town Clerk office provides and manages online access to Town of Easton land records and maps, including initiating a subscription-based online service which provides additional revenue to the town. Out team is responsible for updating and maintaining the town website, daily postings for events and town government notices, board and commission information, and board updates. As Town Clerk, and I am responsible for maintaining the Town ordinances and historical records. The Town Clerk Office receives accolades for providing superior customer service and improving public access to documents and records.

Other issues:

Although not a policy making elected position in the Town of Easton, as Town Clerk I support the Republican platform of maintaining local control, fiscal responsibility, supporting and providing services for our senior citizens, responsibly educating and keeping our youth safe, and preserving Easton's natural beauty. I respect the residents of our town and believe in the efforts to continue to support our inclusive community as well as honor and respect those who keep us safe.

What else would you like voters to know about you?

An Easton resident since 2008, I along with my husband Rich have three children in the local public school system. I am an active volunteer with many local organizations, including National Charity League, Scouts BSA, the Community Assets Network (CAN) at Joel Barlow High School, HKMS Ski Club and Easton/Redding Falcon Girl Scouts. Before moving to the East Coast and entering public service, I was the Executive Director in the not-for-profit sector for Special Children's Charities, and the fund-raising arm of Special Olympics in Chicago. I hold an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and a master’s degree from Pepperdine University.
