Easton EMS Treat Workers Sick from Chemical Inhalation
Workers had treated two stories of a house with polyurethane but left the windows closed.

EASTON, CT — EMS workers responded to a call about workers getting sick while cleaning a home in Easton.
When EMS crews arrived on the scene at 1 p.m. Aug. 19th, they found the workers shaking uncontrollably, dizzy, sick to their stomachs, and sweating profusely, The Aspetuck News reported. They had spent two hours sanding and treating every floor in the home with polyurethane.
Both Easton ambulances and two paramedics from American Medical Response in Bridgeport were needed for the response. It also required the Easton fire department to put on air packs and search for victims, according t0 an Easton EMS social media post. Two workers were affected.

All of the windows in the home were closed, and none of the workers were wearing respirators. The workers were transporters to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport for treatment.
