Easton First Selectman Bindelglass To Seek Third Term

First Selectman David Bindelglass has announced he is running for re-election to a third term.

After a stint on the Easton School Board, Bindelglass was elected to his current job in 2019. He led the first Democratic majority on the Easton Board of Selectman in nearly 40 years, and was re-elected in 2021.

EASTON, CT — First Selectman David Bindelglass has announced he is running for re-election to a third term.

After a stint on the Easton School Board, Bindelglass was elected to his current job in 2019. He led the first Democratic majority on the Easton Board of Selectman in nearly 40 years, and was re-elected in 2021.

In a statement released Thursday, Bindelglass touted "bipartisan efforts in town hall, in our boards and commissions and within the community as a whole," preserving farmland and settling "generational issues like the fate of the South Park property."

"What I am most proud of though is that we have accomplished all of this with transparency and integrity. On multiple issues we have endeavored to keep the town informed of what was going on and to provide factual documents to keep everyone informed. Our work is visible to all," Bindelglass said.

In his statement, Bindelglass stressed the importance of major issues on the town agenda this year, including improvements to emergency services communications and the need to build a new EMS headquarters.

An orthopedic surgeon, Bindelglass lives in Easton with his wife Gloria.
