Easton PD Reassures Barlow Parents Regarding Student Threat
Redding police had been tipped off to a threat involving a Joel Barlow student approximately three weeks ago, it was revealed.

EASTON, CT — Local police have notified parents of students attending Joel Barlow High School that they have been working with the Redding Police Department regarding a threat involving a JBHS student.
Redding Police Chief Mark O’Donnell said in a statement on Monday night that "a tip" came into the Police Department’s school resource officer, "regarding a juvenile student at JBHS," approximately three weeks ago.
O'Donnell said the police thoroughly investigated the complaint and determined there was "no credible threat" for the date indicated, Tuesday, Nov. 12.

Easton police took to social media in Tuesday to reassure parents their children were in no danger.
"The Easton Police want you to be aware that we have been working with the Redding Police Department regarding the information about a Joel Barlow student," police posted. "We take all school issues very seriously and urge anyone to call that has information regarding school safety."
