Easton, Redding Schools Finalize Spring Break Schedule
The Boards of Education for Easton, Redding, and Region 9 held a joint meeting Monday night to formulate the new plan.
EASTON/REDDING, CT — The Boards of Education for Easton, Redding, and Region 9 held a joint meeting Monday night and agreed upon the following changes to the Spring Break scheduled for the week of April 13 to April 17:
- Thursday, April 9: This day will hold Distance Learning sessions in the morning for students and faculty. In the afternoon we will hold the previously scheduled Professional Development time for teachers.
- Friday, April 10: Good Friday. No Distance Learning activity. School buildings and Central Office will be closed for the holiday.
- Monday, April 13: Vacation Day. No Distance Learning activity.
- Tuesday, April 14: Vacation Day. No Distance Learning activity.
- Wednesday, April 15: Vacation Day. No Distance Learning activity.
- Thursday, April 16: Morning Distance Learning sessions for students and staff. In the afternoon the faculty will have professional development time for teachers.
- Friday, April 17: Morning Distance Learning sessions for students and staff. In the afternoon the faculty will have professional development time for teachers.
The Grab and Go Meal Program will continue throughout this period as previously scheduled, with the exception that no meals will be offered on Good Friday, April 10.
Currently, all public schools in Connecticut are closed through April 20. In a letter to parents, Easton, Redding and Region 9 School Districts Superintendent Thomas McMorran wrote, "We should anticipate an extension of the closure indefinitely as we await clarification from the Governor's office."
