Easton Student Wins National Merit Scholarship
An Easton student is among 2,600 high school seniors nationwide who were awarded college-sponsored scholarships through the program.
EASTON, CT — The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has announced its third round of 2022 scholarship winners, and a Bethel student has made the list.
According to a news release, Joel Barlow High School student Alexis Ogrinz received a National Merit Purdue University Scholarship, and is eying a career in computer science. Students included in this round were chosen by officials at the college or university they plan to attend, and were picked from a list of 2022 National Merit Scholarship finalists who have enrolled in their institution.
Though officials didn't specify the amount of money each student will receive, the awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the school offering the scholarship.
