Easton Teens Cited On Drug Possession Charges In New Canaan

The pair were pulled over on Gerdes Road on Wednesday afternoon.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Two teenagers from Easton were cited for drug possession in New Canaan Wednesday afternoon, after an officer pulled them over for being in a vehicle with illegally tinted windows, according to authorities.

Because of their ages, 16-year-old passenger and 17-year-old driver, their identities were not disclosed by police. They were pulled over on Gerdes Road at about 5:45 p.m.

"Upon approaching the occupied vehicle the officer detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle and observed in plain view a partially burnt marijuana cigarette," wrote police in a statement.

The 16 year old was issued a summons for possession of narcotics for allegedly having unnamed prescription pills in his possession, though they were not prescribed to him.

The 17 year old was issued an infraction for possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana. Both suspects were released to their parents' custody.
