FAIRFIELD COUNTY HOSPICE HOUSE (FCHH) TO CELEBRATE GROUNDBREAKING OF FIRST RESIDENTIAL HOSPICE HOME IN CONNECTICUT.
The public is invited to attend the ground breaking ceremony on December 2nd, at 12 noon at One Den Rd, Stamford

It has been years in the making, and on December 2 the Fairfield County Hospice House (FCHH) will officially break ground on the first residential hospice home in Connecticut. The six-bedroom home is intended to serve as a home away from home for patients at the end of life. The home will serve hundreds of families annually. All rooms are single occupancy with individual baths and private outdoor spaces overlooking beautiful landscaping.
“This is truly a community effort. Many generous individuals, businesses, foundations, and nonprofit organizations from cities and towns across Fairfield County have donated time, money, and materials – including the land – to make this happen,” says Larry Weisman, co-chair of the FCCH Board and Westport resident.
Dignitaries scheduled to attend the groundbreaking ceremony include Governor Dannel Malloy, Stamford Mayor David Martin, Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling, along with many others from Fairfield County. The ceremony will take place at noon on December 2 at One Den Road, Stamford (at the intersection of Roxbury Road, off exit 33 of the Merritt Parkway). FCHH will also be celebrating its first annual “Flight of Life” ceremony at this time, in which individuals can honor loved ones who have passed away.

“Some families are fortunate to be able to help a parent or other family member spend their final weeks at home,” says Richard Redniss, co-chair of the FCCH Board. “But for financial or other reasons, that is not always an option. Our Hospice House will help fill this void by providing a true home-like setting for those in need.”
Fairfield County Hospice House (FCHH) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. For more information, please visit http://www.fchospicehousect.org.
