Fiery Redding Crash Sends Six Teens to Hospital: UPDATE

Multiple people were sent to the hospital after a car crash in Redding Friday.

REDDING, CT — Police in Redding are investigating after a serious car crash hospitalized six area teens late Friday afternoon, reports News 12. The report indicates the car crashed into a tree and caught fire.

UPDATE: The names of the teenagers involved in the crash have been released.

While little information has been released at the moment, a later report from News 12 indicates all of the individuals involved in the crash are teenagers from Redding, Fairfield and Easton, and all suffered serious to critical injuries.

Redding First Selectman Julia Pemberton urged residents to "refrain from speculation on social media" and that the Redding Police Department would release information when it becomes available, according to the News Times.

The News Times further reports that a meeting was planned at Joel Barlow High School so that staff can comfort students.
