Fire Reported At Weston Home, 1 Taken To Hospital: Fire Officials

Firefighters contained the blaze to the basement after heavy smoke was reported at the home, officials said.

WESTON, CT — A person was taken to the hospital after a fire broke out at a home in Weston on Wednesday afternoon, according to fire officials.

Crews were dispatched around 2:09 p.m. to Davis Hill Road for a reported structure fire.

When firefighters arrived, heavy smoke was coming from the rear of the home, officials said.

Firefighters entered the home and were able to contain the fire to the basement, preventing it from spreading further.

Crews remained on scene to check for fire extension and ventilate the home.

One person was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to officials.

Mutual aid was provided by Wilton, Georgetown and Weston police, while Westport fire crews covered the town during the response.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Weston Fire Marshal.
