Former Easton Police Commissioner Sentenced For Role In Steroid Ring

The distribution ring centered around a former Newtown Police sergeant.

EASTON, CT — An Easton man was sentenced to three years probation and ordered to pay a $10,000 fine for his role in a steroid distribution ring.

Near the center of the ring was Steven Santucci, a former Newtown Police sergeant who received shipments of raw steroid ingredients from China. He would then manufacture and distribute wholesale quantities of anabolic steroids. Certain members of the ring also distributed prescription pills and cocaine.

Raymond Martin, 50, of Easton was intercepted on a wiretapped phone call ordering anabolic steroids and offering to sell oxycodone pills, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut office. He was a police commissioner in Easton at the time. He was arrested on July 14, 2015 and pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
