Garage Fire Spread To Home In Easton
The house sustained heavy fire damage and the portions that were not directly impacted by the fire sustained smoke heat and water damage,
EASTON, CT — Firefighters were able to extinguish a fire that began in a resident's garage before it engulfed the home early Tuesday morning.
At approximately 2:45 a.m. the Easton Fire Dept was dispatched to a reported garage fire. First responders from the Easton Police Department reported that a large portion of the house was involved. When firefighters arrived they found the garage and a large portion of the living area consumed with fire.
"We were able to determine that the two occupants of the house, who had been alerted by a smoke detector, made it safely out of the house," Easton FD official posted on Facebook. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters established a water supply and were able to extinguish the fire from the exterior of the house. The house sustained heavy fire damage and the portions that were not directly impacted by the fire sustained smoke heat and water damage, according to the report.
The bulk of the fire was knocked down "fairly quickly" with units staying on scene for two hours to overhaul and check for hot spots, according to fire officials.
