Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Date Set for Brookfield Area

The Housatonic Resources Recovery Authority is hosting a "Household Hazardous Waste" event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12.

BROOKFIELD, CT — The Housatonic Resources Recovery Authority is hosting a "Household Hazardous Waste" event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Brookfield High School on 45 Long Meadow Hill Road in Brookfield.

Only residents from Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury, Kent, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield and Sherman can drop off hazardous items, which may include camera batteries, moth balls, paints, septic tank degreasers and more. (See below for a more complete list.)

Fuel containers will not be returned at this event. Residents are advised to stay in their vehicle at all times, and refrain from smoking.
