Here's Where Redding Ranks Among Top Places To Live In CT For 2023

Rankings website Niche.com just published its 2023 list of the "best places to live in Connecticut." Where does Redding fall on the list?

REDDING, CT — According to Rankings website Niche.com, Redding is the No. 41 best place to live in Connecticut.

Niche.com gives Redding an overall "A" score, and the town receives an "A+" for its public schools. The town received "A"'s for its family friendliness, and the health and wellness opportunities for its residents. Redding was ranked No. 34 in Best Places to Raise a Family in Connecticut, the No. 25 spot with the best public schools in the state, and No. 28 among the best communities in Connecticut to retire, according to Niche.com.

Redding received a "C+" for cost of living and a "B-" each for housing, diversity and the commute.

According to Niche.com, the median average home value in Redding is $563,800 and the rent is $1,375 a month. The median household income in Redding is $140,475.

West Hartford was once again deemed to be the No. 1 place to live in Connecticut for 2023. The Hartford suburb garnered an overall "A+" grade, and copped top marks for its public schools, family friendliness, and the health/fitness of its residents. It was also No. 1 on the list of the best suburbs in the state.

For its scores, Niche drew upon data from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey, the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Uniformed Crime Report, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Climatic Data Center, the US Department of Agriculture's Food Environment Atlas and other sources, as well as millions of resident reviews.
