Hit & Run, Identity Theft, Top Redding Police Blotter June 6-12

REDDING, CT — Some fender benders, a hit-and-run and identity theft were at the top of the Redding Police Department blotter last week.

Police are investigating a criminal mischief complaint, reported on June 7. The Starrs Ridge Road resident told police that someone had smashed out the passenger side front window of their vehicle while it was parked in their driveway overnight.

No injuries were reported on June 7 when a motorist hit a parked vehicle in the lot of Route 7 Mason Supply.

Luck was likewise with another motorist that same day, driving westward on a very narrow section of Hopewell Woods Road. The vehicle struck a rock ledge along the shoulder of the road, damaging both passenger side tires, but leaving the driver uninjured, according to police.

Police are still investigating a hit-and-run accident, also reported on June 7. One motorist left the scene of the 2-vehicle collision, which occurred on Cross Highway in front of the Boys & Girls Club of Redding-Easton.

A Granite Ridge Road resident made an identity theft complaint on June 8, claiming that someone filed an unemployment claim in his name. That investigation remains open with the Redding Police Department.
