How Many Residents Have Received The Coronavirus Vaccine So Far?

WESTON/REDDING/EASTON, CT — According to the state Department of Public Health, a total of 838 residents in Weston, 927 in Redding and 676 in Easton have received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

There are 10,252 Weston residents and 8.17 percent of them have received their first dose. Weston has 438 residents over the age of 75 and 331 of them have received their first dose or 75.57 percent.

The population of Redding is 9,116, and 10.17 percent of the town has received their first dose. There are 840 residents over the age of 75, and 507 of them have been jabbed once, a percentage of 60.36.

There are 7,521 residents in Easton, and 8.99 percent of them have received their first dose. Easton has 528 residents over the age of 75 and 220 of them have received their first dose or 41.67 percent, according to state health officials.

Since the pandemic began in March, Weston has reported 417 cases of COVID-19 and 5 deaths associated with the virus. Redding has had 374 cases and 15 deaths, and Easton 294 cases with 3 COVID-19 fatalities.

With state and local infection rates and many other indicators pointing in a more positive direction, Gov. Ned Lamont said Monday he would relax some coronavirus restrictions on houses of worship and restaurants.

The governor will eliminate the 100-person cap on religious ceremonies and leave in place the 50 percent capacity limit. Social distancing and mask use still need to be enforced. The restaurant curfew will be pushed back from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. with 50 percent dining capacity.
