'Tis the Season: A Redding resident reported to police that a thief swiped a package out of his mailbox.

REDDING, CT — A package swiped out of a mailbox, and a number of motor vehicle accidents, were at the top of the Redding Police Department blotter this past week.

A motorist told police he lost control of his vehicle and drove off Poverty Hollow Road near the Newtown Line on Nov. 10, abandoning his ride on the shoulder of the roadway. A West Woodland Drive resident told police on Nov. 11 that someone had stolen a package from his mailbox, after it had been photographed and delivered by the carrier. That investigation is still open.
