John Read Middle School PTA To Host First-Ever Color Run On May 19
Online registration for 5K and 1-Mile Fun-Run is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities.

John Read Middle School Parent Teacher Association (JRMS PTA) is thrilled to host its first-ever Color Run on Sunday, May 19. The fun-filled community event will feature a 5K race and a 1-Mile Fun Run at Joel Barlow High School’s cross-country course in Redding, CT.

The 1-Mile Fun Run will take place at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K Run at 9 a.m.
Participants will run or walk through the woods and fields of bucolic Redding, while being doused with colorful powder at each kilometer mark. The Color Run raises funds for the JRMS PTA and will also feature live music and post-race snacks.

“This fun and exciting event allows not only the JRMS student body to participate, but also the entire community,” said Seana Bedard, JRMS PTA’s vice president of fundraising. “With all proceeds benefiting the JRMS PTA it’s a win-win for all.”
Registration fees for the 5K are $35 (+online fee) and $25 (+online fee) for the 1-Mile Fun Run. Registration is now open online at www.jrmspta.org/colorrun.
