League Of Women Voters Presents Weston Candidates' Debates
The League of Women Voters of Weston will hold candidate debates and forums for municipal office on three consecutive Saturday mornings.

WESTON, CT., OCTOBER 6, 2021-- Due to the uncertainties related to the resurgence of the COVID-19 virus and emerging variants, the League of Women Voters of Weston will hold candidate debates and forums for municipal office as a webinar on Zoom this year.
The events will be held on three consecutive Saturday mornings, beginning on October 9 at 10:00 a.m. with the candidates for First Selectman, followed by the candidates for the Board of Selectmen at 10:50 a.m. The debate will be moderated by Kay Maxwell, former president of the League of Women Voters of the United States and former president of the Connecticut League.

On Saturday, October 16, there will be a forum for the Board of Education candidates from 10:00-11:15 a.m., followed by the Board of Finance debate from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Laura Smits, president of the Connecticut League, will moderate the two events.
On Saturday, October 23, candidates for the Planning & Zoning Commission will debate from 10:00-11:15 a.m. The Board of Police Commissioners’ forum will follow from 11:30 a.m.- 12:45 p.m. The moderator will be Celeste LaCroix, president of the Westport League.

These debates and forums will take place via Zoom and there will not to be an opportunity to ask questions during the events. Questions for the candidates should be submitted in advance and emailed to lwvofweston@gmail.com by the Thursday before.
