Letter: In Support of David Bindelglass for First Selectman
"Dr. Bindelglass stepped up for our town. He helped people get vaccinated..."

To the Editor:
When David Bindelglass took over First Selectman for Easton, there was no way he could have foreseen what would happen in the coming months. As a current resident of Easton, his communication throughout the pandemic has been amazing and imperative. The fact that Dr. Bindelglass has the medical background, was extremely fortunate for our town. He was
able to be on the front lines and have all the scientific information that we needed. Dr. Bindelglass stepped up for our town. He helped people get vaccinated, our schools opened for in-person learning a lot sooner than schools around us. The same time he was dealing with the pandemic, he
was also still focused on the projects in town.
As someone who is very much in the middle when it comes to politics, I appreciated that Dr. Bindelglass listened to people on both sides when they had reasonable concerns. The fact that Jeff Parker went ahead and shared confidential information with people outside of the BOE, was disturbing in and of itself, but the fact that he shared it with someone who snuck into our children’s school, is spreading misinformation and creating a toxic environment in town is just disgusting. I had always trusted Jeff in the past. I cannot say the same anymore. Anyone in the Republican Party who is engaging with Dana Benson, and his group, should not be running for office.

This town needs to come back more to middle ground and start engaging in civil conversation. I completely TRUST that David Bindelglass can do that and that he has the best interest in mind for ALL of Easton, not just the Democratic Party.
