Letter: 'Tony Hwang Is Our Advocate In Hartford'
"If you ever have the opportunity to walk around with State Senator Tony Hwang, don't pass it up…"

To the editor:
If you ever have the opportunity to walk around with State Senator Tony Hwang, don’t pass it up. I have had that privilege many times and the reaction he receives from everyone he sees speaks volumes about the kind of elected official he is.
People remember Tony and usually have a story to go with their memory. Whether it’s a visit he made to a school or scout group, a forum he led on a leading local concern or an issue he advocated for in the senate chamber, Tony knows his district. He knows that statewide, one-size-fits-all mandates don’t work for our towns. He knows we could all use some relief from high utility costs and taxes. He knows we take our role as stewards of the watershed seriously. This knowledge has come over time but also because Tony puts in the time. Not all legislators do that. Not all legislators listen to the priorities of the communities they represent. But Tony does.
