Meet Bonnie Troy, Green Party candidate for CT General Assembly
Confused about local elections? We are in District 135. Bonnie Troy is running for State Representative. She'd like to meet you!
I am a lifelong local resident and I was asked to step up to the plate and offer myself to public service. While I am not a career politician, I have firsthand experience in what it takes to run a small business in CT, raise a child in CT, and maneuver through the educational system and battle with the health insurance web as a single mom.
My land care business, Moonbeam Gardens, is based upon organic and sustainable practices; we help local businesses and homeowners with beekeeping, growing food, and composting. As a representative of Viridian Energy, I host renewable energy events with Aspetuk Land Trust and The Nature Conservancy.
I also host business meet and greets, and last February I began the First Annual Taste of Georgetown, which is a month-long event that encourages people to come out and experience the versatile culinary options in our restaurant district right at the intersection of Redding and Weston.

Should he win this election, my opponent plans on retaining his job as Easton’s First Selectman. How will he handle his divided loyalties between Easton and our entire district? It seems there could also be potential conflict of interest.
As your Representative I will advocate on behalf of all three towns in our district. I’ll endeavor to support legislation that preserves our beautiful rural landscape, provides incentives to keep Millennials and seniors in our district and creates opportunities to develop a prosperous and sustainable local economy here and throughout the state.
