Missing Redding Teen Girl Reunited With Parents

The teen had run away from home overnight between Friday and Saturday

REDDING, CT — A teen girl who had run away from home overnight between Friday and Saturday has been found, police reported.

The Redding Police Department responded to a call at approximately 7:22 a.m. on Saturday reporting that a 13-year-old girl had run away sometime overnight.

"She was upset over being grounded and having her cell phone taken away," the police report said.

A Silver Alert was issued for Isobel Maher-Moylan while search-and-rescue teams from West Redding and Redding Ridge Fire Departments checked the area near the residence.

At 1:30 p.m., a resident who saw the Silver Alert identified Maher-Moylan walking on Route 53 near John Read Middle School. After contacting police, the resident drove the girl to the Redding Police Department.

The teen was evaluated by the Redding Ridge Ambulance Service and reunited with her parents.
