Missing Teen Found After Overnight Search
Divers, multiple K9 teams, police, fire crews, CERT and more were deployed in the search.

REDDING, CT — A 19-year-old male was missing for over six hours early Sunday morning before turning up, unharmed, on his own, the Aspetuck News has reported. In the interim, about 50 people, including multiple Redding fire companies, the Redding police, multiple canine tracking units, and members of the Community Emergency Response Team deployed to search for the teen.
Redding police received a report of the missing teen from one of his friends between midnight and 1 a.m. The caller indicated that the missing teen had threatened suicide, and had threatened to hurt himself on previous occasions.
The search centered around a lookout point near Glen Road and Newtown Turnpike in Redding, on the Saugatuck Reservoir, which his friends said was a common hangout. Four of the friends participated in the search, as well as divers who searched the water.
The missing teen emerged from out of the woods on his own at 5:30 a.m. He was unharmed, but transported to Danbury Hospital as a precaution.
