Motor Vehicle Accidents Top The Redding Police Blotter June 10-16

REDDING, CT — Mishaps on the road, and in the parking lot of Lombardi's Restaurant, were atop the Redding police blotter June 10-16, 2024

A motorist struck and killed a deer that ran out onto Black Rock Turnpike/Route 58 on June 13. The human was unharmed, according to police.

Minor injuries were reported by the passenger of a vehicle parked at Lombardi's Restaurant on Main Street on June 13. While, trying to exit the vehicle, the person was struck accidentally by another vehicle backing out of an adjacent space, according to police.

That same day, in the same parking lot, a motorist backed out of a parking space and right into another vehicle traveling past it, police said. An officer cited the first driver for unsafe backing. No one was injured.

Police issued a motorist a warning for "following too close" after they rear ended another car on Redding Road/Route 53 on June 11. No one was injured.

Another rear-ending occurred two days later when a motorist slowing down while rounding a curve on Route 107 was hit from behind. No injuries were reported.

On June 16, police report that a "miscommunication" between drivers resulted in a collision at the intersection of Black Rock Turnpike and Cross Highway. No one was injured, according to police.
