Upcoming programs for adults at the Easton Public Library
Join us at the Easton Public Library in November for a range of programs that feature something for everyone. The Friends of the Easton Public Library Semi-Annual Book Sale begins on Friday, November 9th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a preview, which is Free for Friends members and $10 for nonmembers. The book sale continues on Saturday, November 10th, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with free admission, and on Sunday, November 11th, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with free admission and $10 for a bag or box of books.
On Tuesday, November 13th, at 2:00 p.m., the Library presents Social Media for Seniors, which is designed for seniors who want to learn how to connect with friends and family, using Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. One-on-one assistance will also be available. This program is presented in conjunction with Eileen Zimmerman, Municipal Agent for the Aging.
SCORE Fairfield County will present “Getting Started in Farming in Connecticut” on Tuesday, November 13th, at 6:00 p.m. This program will be led by Charlotte Ross and Jeff Cordulack. Charlotte Ross is the Owner/Operator of Sweet Acre Farm, a Certified Organic mixed vegetable & flower farm in Lebanon, CT, and Program Coordinator for the Solid Ground Farmer Training Program, a BFRDP-funded training series for growers in CT offered through UConn Extension. Jeff Cordulack is Executive Director of The Northeast Organic Farming Association of Connecticut, whose mission is to ensure the growth and viability of organic agriculture, food, and land care. CT NOFA connects consumers to local farmers and provides education via conferences and workshops. The program will help new farmers get started and connect them with farmer networks and agricultural service providers. Career Coaching with Cathy Alfandre is a 30-minute, one-on-one confidential consultation about job searching, changing careers, resume writing, or anything else career related. Cathy is an Easton resident. The sessions will take place on Monday, November 5th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Thursday, November 29th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and Wednesday, December 12th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Access our online calendar to register for your 30-minute time slot.
