Obituary: Bernadette Irene (Kohalmi) Terasowich, 61, Of Easton

Blessed with an artistic ability and a love of gardening, Bernadette found her passion in flower arranging.

Bernadette Irene (Kohalmi) Terasowich, 61 of Easton, Connecticut, entered into eternal life on August 11, 2021.


Born January 19, 1960 to the late Emery and Irene Kohalmi, she spent her formative years in Fairfield and later moved with her family to Easton, where she attended Helen Keller Middle School and graduated from Joel Barlow High School.

Blessed with an artistic ability and a love of gardening, Bernadette found her passion in flower arranging and went on to own and operate the Flower Box in Trumbull Center for many years. She also loved to travel and entertain, and hosted family and friends in her home on a regular basis.

Bernadette is survived by her brother David Kohalmi and wife Tammy of Milford, sister Loretta Bortner and husband Steven of Wilton; nieces Erica Gaynor and husband Brandon, Jessica Kamzik and husband Anders, Amanda Rubin and husband Mike, nephew Daniel Kamzik; grandniece Lillian Gaynor, grandnephew Benjamin Gaynor; aunts Elizabeth Stankovics, Olga Kleine; uncle Joseph Kohalmi and wife Marika; cousins Peter Stankovics, Andrea Summers, Lisa McBeth and Joseph Kohalmi.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Emery Church, 838 Kings Highway, Fairfield with burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Saturday at the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Emery Church.
