Obituary: Joseph A. Orlando, 91, of Redding

REDDING, CT — Joseph A. Orlando, 91, of Redding, formerly of Fairfield, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018. He was the loving husband of the late Dorothy Orlando.

Mr. Orlando was born on October 5, 1927, in the Bronx, NY, a son of the late Salvatore and Anna Orlando. Upon his retirement as a financial executive, Mr. Orlando provided counseling to small businesses through the SCORE organization, and enjoyed skiing, boating and travelling, but mostly treasured time spent with his family.

Mr. Orlando is survived by his five children: Barbara Orlando; Joe Orlando and his wife, Barbara; Patty Volpacchio and her husband, Gino; Donna Moloznik and her husband, Bruce and Dory Bertsche and her husband, Jeff. In addition, Mr. Orlando is survived by eleven grandchildren: Joe, Catie, Laura, Ali, Nick, Julia, Anna, James, Ben, Grace, and Sarah.

Mr. Orlando was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Dorothy and a son, John.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church; 30 Church Street, Georgetown. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.
