REDDING, CT — Margot M. Smith, 87, of Redding, died peacefully on Sept. 7, 2023. She was the loving wife of Derek Smith of Redding.
Margot was born in Wimbledon, England on May 26, 1936. She was educated privately in England and worked for a London publishing company until her marriage in 1967 at which time she joined her husband in New York.

A longtime resident of Ridgefield and Redding, Margot was until 2015 a paralegal with Pinney Payne, P.C. at offices in Ridgefield and Danbury.
In her spare time, she enjoyed drawing, painting, rug-making and gardening.

Margot is survived by her husband of 55 years, Derek, by family and friends in England, by friends in the U.S., by colleagues at Pinney Payne and by her many clients throughout the area.
A Memorial Service will take place on September 29, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 AM. A private cremation will take place following the service.
