Obituary: Paulina (Quilty) Connolly, of Redding

Paulina served as a commissioner on the State of Connecticut Commission on the Arts, and as a board member of the Hartford Stage Company.

REDDING, CT — Paulina (Quilty) Connolly, 88, of Redding, formerly of West Hartford, passed away on December 6, 2018 at Meadow Ridge in Redding.

Born in Auburndale, MA on February 28, 1930, Paulina was the beloved daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy Quilty; and sister to the late Dorothy Flynn, Audrey Keenan and Rosemary Martin. Raised in Auburndale, she attended Newton High School and LaSalle Junior College. She and her former husband Walter Connolly raised their six children in West Hartford and Hyannisport, MA.

Involved in the greater Hartford community, she served as a Commissioner on the State of Connecticut Commission on the Arts, and as a Board member of the Hartford Stage Company. She also served on the St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary, the Auxiliary of the Institute of Living, as well as the Auxiliary of Hartford.

Paulina was the loving mother of Timothy Connolly (Valerie) of Danbury, Kevin Connolly (Diane) of Gloucester, MA, Mary-Elise Connolly (Fred Dalzell) of Newton, MA, Justin Connolly of Santa Monica CA, Paulina Connolly of Sarasota, FL and Sarah Connolly (Lari Freeman) of New Haven. Loving grandmother of Alister, Kate, Seamus, Isabel, Gabriel, Abigail, Paloma, Molly, Lucia, Elizabeth, Aaron; and great-grandmother to Luna. Loving companion of the late Jack Riley of Marstons Mills, MA. She is also survived by fourteen nieces and nephews and their families.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Victory, Centerville, MA, Saturday January 19, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited.
