REDDING, CT — Ruth C. Shenk, age 93 of Redding, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 1, 2022.

Born in Medford, MA on February 13, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Leo D. and Theresa DeCourcey Clark. Faith, family, and friends defined her. She graduated first in her class from Emmanuel College and went to work as an editor at the Harvard Magazine. Ruth was passionate about many things, including grammar (which puts extraordinary pressure on her children as they pen this obituary), the New York Times crossword puzzle, bridge, where she obtained several Masterpoints, golf, theater, and Boston sports. She even bought shares of the Boston Celtics. Ruth resided in Wilton for more than 40 years with her family and among her civic roles was the President of the League of Women’s Voters. She was a long-time member of Silver Spring Country Club. She was a lady in every sense of the word.
