Obituary: Teresa "Terry" Satkowsky Twardy, 79, Of Georgetown

REDDING, CT — Teresa "Terry" Satkowsky Twardy of Georgetown passed away unexpectedly at her home on May, 26, 2022 at the age of 79. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Twardy.

Terry was born in Norwalk on October 3, 1942, daughter of the late Edward and Bernadette (Scott) Satkowsky. Terry grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Danbury High School. In 1960 Terry began her accounting career at Gilbert & Bennett Mfg. Co. in Georgetown and retired from Hamar Laser in 2014.

Terry and Charlie enjoyed traveling and vacationed with family and visited friends up and down the east coast. They also enjoyed showing off their culinary talents for friends and family whenever possible. Sometimes they just liked sitting on their front porch watching the hummingbirds. Terry just returned on May 15th from an 18 day bucket list vacation to Maui with her siblings and as she told everyone "I had the time of my life".

Terry is predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Charlie as well as her parents. She is survived by her siblings Marge (Lou) Mazza of Albrightsville, PA, Ed (Anne-Marie) Satkowsky of Danbury, and Patti (Mark) Piech of Yardley, PA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews whom she loved so dearly and she will be sadly missed by all of them. Also very special to Terry were Charlie's relatives all of whom she loved and considered family. We would also like to thank Jim & Mary Evans and Father John Inserra for their continuing love, friendship and support. We find solace in knowing that Terry is once again united with Charlie and is happy and at peace.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 6pm to 8pm at Bouton Funeral Home, 31 W. Church St., Georgetown, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 30 Church St. Georgetown, CT. The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Copps Hill Rd., Ridgefield CT. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Terry's name be made to Sacred Heart Church, PO Box 388, Georgetown, CT 06829.
