REDDING, CT — Violet Zaffino Nedley, age 97, of Redding, passed away at home peacefully in her sleep.

She was born in Stamford, the oldest daughter of the late Pasquale and Laura (Colosi) Zaffino. Predeceased by her youngest sister Dorothea DeFilippis of Greenwich, and survived by her brother Egidio Richard Zaffino of Brookfield, CT and sister Wanda Vodola of Newtown.

Violet is survived by her daughter Carolyn Nedley and her husband, Charles Bohn, of San Jose, CA and her daughter Patrice Gelineau and her husband, Ronald of Redding: four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Violet graduated from Stamford High School in 1943 and attended Traphagan School of Fashion from 1944-1945. She worked at Conde Nast Publishing in the Pattern Department from 1943–1953 and as a draftsman at Reflectone Inc. 1960–1976 and Cober Electronics 1979–1987.

She retired in 1987 and moved from Stamford to Redding. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and friends.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, Redding, Wednesday, July 27, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at The Ridge Cemetery, Redding.
