Pemberton Wins Redding Democratic Primary For First Selectman
Incumbent Pemberton defeated Mike D'Agostino, Democratic Town Committee chair and Region 9 board member.
REDDING, CT — Incumbent Julia Pemberton won the Democratic primary for first selectman in Redding, defeating Mike D’Agostino, Democratic Town Committee chair and Region 9 board member.
Pemberton won with 565 votes to D'Agostino's 201, according to the tally posted to the Redding Democratic Town Committee Facebook about 8:20 Tuesday night, less than a half-hour after the voting closed.
Pemberton has been first selectman for four terms, eight years. She ran unopposed in 2017 and 2019.

She won't be running unopposed this time, however. The Redding Republican Town Committee endorsed John Shaban, former state legislator for the 135th District, for the town's top slot.
The election for Redding first selectman is scheduled for Nov. 2.
