Police ID Body Found In Redding Woods

REDDING, CT — The Connecticut State Police have identified the body found Feb. 18 in Redding.

The State Police Western District Major Crime Squad at Troop A in Southbury have identified the deceased as Leah Chaparro, 26, of Bridgeport.

The body of the woman was found early that Sunday morning in a wooded area off Route 53/Glen Road by a jogger, who called 911.

WDMC detectives have described the circumstances surrounding Chaparro’s death as "suspicious," and their investigation is ongoing.
