“Continued funding for this program is critical for several reasons,” says executive director Basil Hero. “Since the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, many of our new clients are presenting with more serious, intractable issues because they have not previously had access to mental health care coverage. In addition, multiple studies of the Sandy Hook shooting cite the need for mental health services which are integrated into the family setting, community and school. Through Positive Directions’ prevention initiatives, we have established community relationships that allow us to bring all these pieces together.”

“We are extremely grateful to FCCF for its ongoing support of our efforts to assist those people in the greatest need,” says Hero. “
