Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10AM for an hour long talk on how to create the best compost for your 2018 garden.

Lachat is opening its door to another very informative and beneficial talk in our educational series! This one is on the benefits of composting for your garden. Composting is an electrically charged way of attracting minerals and nutrient rich molecules very readily available to achieve a goldmine for your 2018 garden! Don’t miss this opportunity to talk with Michael A. Valenti, Ph.D. on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10AM for an hour long talk on how to create the best compost for your 2018 garden.

Michael was born and raised in Stamford, CT and is currently the State Forester in Delaware. He earned his B.S. in Forestry from the University of New Hampshire then earned two subsequent M.S. degrees: Forest Biometrics from Louisiana State University and Forest Biology from the State University of New York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry. He worked for the next 2-1/2 years in a tree and shrub care industry becoming a certified Massachusetts arborist before attending Washington State University for his Ph.D. in entomology.

Weston is fortunate to have Michael as a guest speaker and he is looking forward to bringing his expertise in gardening, composting, and bugs in general to Lachat for an early morning gathering. Michael lives in Dover, DE and is father of four boys, all of whom attained the rank of Eagle Scout. His wife, Amy, works with the Boy Scouts and he spends some of his free time still acting as a senior guide to many troops in the greater Delaware area. In addition, Michael is just back from California in offering three weeks of support to fighting wild fires this summer. Something he’s been supporting in various areas of the country each summer for twenty years.
