Redding Elementary School PTA Wins $5K Grant

REDDING, CT - The Redding Elementary School PTA has received a $5,000 grant for COVID-19 relief from the National PTA, funded by TikTok. Schools of Excellence were invited to submit ideas in four categories to meet community needs due to the extraordinary challenges created by the pandemic.

Redding Elementary School PTA, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit association, chose to submit a grant in the social and emotional well-being and mental health category. Students will work with a visiting artist and the school's social resources team to create art and writing responses to the COVID-19 crisis as part of their return to school in the fall. The team will be led by Redding Elementary School PTA volunteers, in partnership with the school staff.

Redding Elementary School PTA is one of two in the state and 110 nationwide chosen to receive funding from this special initiative to help communities deal with needs brought on by COVID-19.
