The firefighters caution never to trust any third party soliciting on their behalf.

REDDING, EMS -- Redding Fire & EMS Company #1 has taken to social media to warn residents about phone scammers soliciting funds for "the Volunteer Firefighter's Association." They caution that they have no affiliation with any such organization.
"Our fire company appreciates donations, but never EVER trust a third party soliciting donations on our behalf," the Company said in a statement released on Facebook.
Caller ID pegged the source as 475-233-1841, which the FD has indicated originates in Waterbury.
