Redding Man Accused Of Stealing Tools, Alcohol From 2 Docked Boats In Norwalk: Police

Police said a Redding man is accused of breaking into two boats docked at Cove Marina in Norwalk and stealing tools and alcohol.

REDDING, CT — A Redding man accused of breaking into two boats docked at Cove Marina in Norwalk last month and stealing tools and alcohol was arrested Tuesday, according to Norwalk police.

In a news release, Police Sgt. Ryan Evarts said two men climbed the fence at Cove Marina on May 17 in order to gain access to the docks.

The men then broke into two docked boats and took tools and alcohol from them, Evarts said.

Officers later discovered Fairfield police had reported a similar incident at one of their marinas in which Christopher McClain, 19, of Redding, was a suspect, according to Evarts.

After reviewing surveillance footage, officers were able to positively identify McClain and his vehicle and obtained a warrant for his arrest, Evarts said.

McClain was arrested Tuesday at his home. He was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal trespass and fifth-degree larceny.

His bond was set at $25,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court later this month, according to Evarts.
