Redding PD Blotter: Collisions and Attempted Fraud
Someone stole a bank check and changed the amount from $95 to $6,500, according to the Redding Police Department
REDDING, CT — Collisions and a stolen check topped the Redding Police Department blotter the week of Mar. 29 to Apr. 3.
A driver pulled into too closely to another car parked in the lot at Joel Barlow High School on Mar. 30, and caused damage to both vehicles, according to Redding Police. No injuries were reported.
The next day, police received a complaint from a Windy Hill resident who reported that someone had stolen a $95 bank check. They then changed the amount to $6,500. The complainant notified the bank, and the police have opened an investigation.

On Apr. 1, two vehicles traveling in opposite directions collided on Newtown Turnpike. Police issued a warning to one driver for failure to drive in the proper lane.
Another collision occurred on Apr. 2. . A driver traveling southbound on Umpawaug came to a stop at the intersection with Route 107, while the driver following immediately behind did not, rear-ending the first driver, according to police. The driver was issued a warning for failure to drive a reasonable apart.
