Redding Police Blotter Highlights For Aug. 12-17

REDDING, CT — Motorists emerged mostly unscathed from a quartet of fender benders logged by the Redding Police Department last week.

No one was injured on Aug. 13 when one motorist slowed on Redding Road to make a left turn onto Dorethy Road and was rear ended. Police ticketed the second motorist for following too closely.

On Aug. 14, a motorist backed out of a parking space and into an unoccupied vehicle at the Redding Ridge Post Office Parking Lot on Black Rock Turnpike/Route 58. Nobody was hurt or cited, according to police.

On Aug. 15, a motorist rear ended another on Cross Highway at the intersection with Route 107. Policed cited the driver for following too closely.

On Aug. 16, a motorist driving southbound on Umpawaug Road lost control of their vehicle and slammed into a few mailboxes while attempting to swat a bee that had flown into the vehicle, according to police. No one was injured.
