REDDING, CT —A hit, a miss and a larceny investigation top the Redding Police Department's blotter for the week of Mar. 21-28.
On Mar. 22, two vehicles driving in opposite directions through a narrow section of Simpaug Turnpike came within inches of sideswiping each other. Instead, their exterior mirrors collided, doing damage to both. No injuries were reported.
Four days later, another driver, who admitted to being tired according to police, drove off Hopewell Woods Road while travelling eastward. The vehicle struck a stonewall and mailbox.

A resident at Meadows Edge called police on Mar. 28 to report that someone had entered their property, stole three large ladders and about 400 square feet of bluestone, a common material used in construction. The items belonged to the complainant's contractor. The investigation remains open.
