Police said teen took the car without his parents' permission and when police attempted to pull him over, he got scared and took off.

A Redding teen has received multiple moving violations after police clocked him in Georgetown Center traveling 97 miles per hour in a 35 m.p.h. zone, according to The Hour.

The 17-year-old, who does not yet have his driver’s license, was charged with failure to observe an officer’s signal, reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle without a proper instructor, and driving at a speed as to endanger.

Police said a Wilton officer observed the teen driving without lights on. When the officer attempted to stop the teen on School Road, the driver accelerated and took off. The driver eventually stopped voluntarily on Route 107 by Meadow Ridge Nursing Facility.
