Redding's Mark Twain Library Is Now Fine-Free

REDDING, CT — The Mark Twain Library in Redding is now fine-free, meaning there are no late fees for overdue books for any patrons.
The library announced this change in late November on social media and in their newsletter, saying it is "an effort to provide equal access to books, information, knowledge, and learning."
All outstanding fines are wiped out, and cards are no longer blocked if a patron owed a fee. The library encourages people to return their books on time so others may enjoy them.

If a patron loses or damages a book, they will still be asked to pay to replace it.
