Region 9 Board Of Ed Honors Students, Retiring Teachers & Admins

REDDING, CT — In a special Recognition Presentation on Tuesday, the Region 9 Board of Educations honored members of the Class of 2020, along with some teachers and administrators entering retirement.

The "top students" in the Joel Barlow Class of 2020, as recognized by the Region 9 Board of Education, are:

• Gregory Coleman - Norwalk Community College
• Sophia Danuszar - Johns Hopkins University
• Olivia Fassman - Cornell University
• Colin Holm-Hansen - Columbia University
• Alex Klein Wassink - Harvard University
• Jack Ledbetter - University of Richmond
• Kathryn Liu - Bryn Mawr College
• Sean McHale - Vanderbilt University
• Owen O’Reilly - University of the Sciences
• Schuyler Rae Pritchard - Worcester Polytechnic Institute
• Zachary Shortt - Dartmouth College
• Ekaterina Taylor-Yeremeeva - Tufts University
• Hannah Tedawes - Northeastern University
• Sarah Tedawes - Northeastern University
• Luke Wergeles - University of Maryland
• Sara Wiesenfeld - University of Connecticut

Three members of the Class of 2020 will be entering the armed forces, and were also honored:

• Daniel Allgood - United States Army
• Tanner Hansen - United States Army
• Keyner Rojas - United States Army, Active Reserves

Also honored by the district were Rosemary Riber, transition coordinator, retiring after 21 years; Charlie Detelich, physical science and earth dynamics teacher, retiring after 17 years; Patty Roszko, director of Special Education, retiring after 32 years; and Tom McMorran, retiring after 13 years with the district and 36 years in education.
